This is where military might and tech innovation are interwoven. With the most expansive regional military complex in the nation, our defense sector is a major economic driver. Fort Bliss also partners with local universities for research, training and certifications in cybersecurity, data analytics and drone operation.
Advanced manufacturing & logistics
Our region is where ideal location meets world-class fabrication. We have the fourth largest manufacturing hub in the US, accounting for 17 percent of all trade with México. With I-10 and I-25, six international ports of entry, binational air and rail access, and a recent $400 million investment by Union Pacific, we’re fast becoming one of the most critical trade centers along the US-México border.
Agriculture
Agriculture has long been a cornerstone here. It’s the second largest industry in New Mexico, producing a variety of signature crops including green chiles, pecans, hemp, and pima cotton.
